Kamiah lays on the banks of the Clearwater River. Lapwai and Kamiah are
the two headquarters for the Nez Perce Tribe. At this point the river
valley widens into a beautiful valley with a very pleasant climate.
When it’s lumber mill burnt down the community held several
fund-raisers and with a lot of volunteer work completely re-did the
main street. It’s right out of the early west and very much worth a
long look-see. Complete food, lodging and automotive services are
available.
