Grangeville is the major community within the Camas Prairie with a
population of 3666. There are complete gas, lodging, and grocery services
and a golf course. Farming and forestry are the two main industries, though
it’s start came from the gold rushes in Pierce and Elk City. This is the
home base for several outfitters and guides. It sets on the edge of the
Camas Prairie with a mountain to it’s back and the Clearwater and Salmon
river canyons on each side. From this point you can enjoy downhill skiing,
whitewater and all other outdoor activities.
